New Poll Shows Smith’s Lead Down to 4%
October 21st, 2020
EAGAN, Minn. — Jason Lewis for Senate campaign manager Tom Szymanski released the following statement after new polling shows Lewis slashing Senator Tina Smith’s lead in the race for United States Senate. A MinnPost poll conducted by Change Research released Tuesday shows Smith at 48% and Lewis at 44% with a margin of error of 3.1%. The poll also shows President Donald Trump closing the gap on Joe Biden, garnering 44% and 49% respectively.
“Polling continues to confirm what President Trump and Jason Lewis have been saying from day one: Minnesota is a toss up and is poised to go red this cycle. With less than two weeks until Election Day, we have slashed Tina Smith’s lead to just four points, all the while being outspent by dark money and liberal special interest groups.
“Minnesotans are disenfranchised with Tina Smith and the increasingly radical Democrat Party, and it’s abundantly clear why. Democrats will defund the police, censor your speech, take your guns, pack the courts and raise your taxes. They’ve promised as much. President Trump and Jason Lewis will fight for the people of Minnesota by continuing the economic comeback, reviving the Iron Range, and defending the Constitution.
“For a sitting United States Senator to be polling below 50% speaks volumes of just how abysmally she has failed her constituents and how poorly they think of her.”
