Lewis Tests Negative Again
October 15th, 2020
EAGAN, Minn. — Jason Lewis for Senate released the following statements today.
“I’m pleased to report that Congressman Lewis received another negative test result today after self-quarantining for over a week now. He’s been feeling fine, symptom free, and is looking forward to a return to the campaign trail in the coming days,” said Communications Director Christine Snell.
In a statement, Lewis said, “I can’t wait to get back on the road again because Minnesota voters deserve answers on things like packing the Supreme Court or holding up COVID relief—even if Joe Biden and Tina Smith don’t think so. It’s more than a bit ironic as we head back out to talk with voters, that the lockdown narrative seems to be falling apart. No doubt, Democrats thought that shutting down the robust Trump economy and keeping Republicans like me off the campaign trail as much as possible might help them, but now even the WHO admits that it was more about politics than public health.
“By declaring that the lockdowns were ineffective, the WHO now appears to be teeing up the ball for Democrats to lift all the lockdowns immediately after Election Day, should they win. If this happens, we’ll all know that the real purpose of the lockdowns was to fear-monger and keep Republicans off the campaign trail, something I’ve suspected from the beginning of this public health challenge.
“Instead of Tina Smith lecturing Minnesotans over their understandable desire to return to a more normal life, she ought to stop using COVID as cover to avoid answering so many questions that voters are asking, like will she pack the Supreme Court with more justices if and when Judge Barrett is rightfully confirmed?”
