Tina Smith is Hiding – Jason Lewis Challenges Smith to More Debates So Minnesotans Can Hear Where She Stands on The Issues

EAGAN, Minn. — After defeating Senator Tina Smith in the first of only two debates she has agreed to between now and Election Day, U.S. Senate candidate Jason Lewis is once again calling on Smith to a series of debates. Earlier this year, Lewis challenged Smith to a series of debates which was summarily ignored, and is now reupping his call for more debates so Minnesotans can see where she stands on the issues.  

“Where is Tina Smith on the issues that matter to Minnesotans? She’s hiding,” said Lewis. “She offers platitudes while dodging questions with political doublespeak. The fact is, Tina is aligned with a radical, far-left agenda, whether it’s working to dismantle police and endorsing Ilhan Omar or turning her back on small businesses during this overreaching lockdown by joining Chuck Schumer to block a comprehensive COVID relief package. Her record speaks for itself, and she needs to speak to Minnesotans in a public forum and be held accountable by them.”

“Senator Smith—I am once again asking you to face me in five debates before the election. I am ready and willing, and Minnesotans deserve to hear where you stand.”

Recent polls show the race statistically tied between Lewis and Smith for U.S. Senate, as well as between President Trump and Joe Biden. Minnesota is a key swing state that will help decide the election this November.
