Lewis Calls Out Hypocrisy of Minneapolis City Council, Vows to Stand Up for Police, Law & Order

EAGAN, Minn. — In case you missed it, national press is once again putting the spotlight on Minneapolis, a community that has moved to defund the police, resulting in rising homicides, burglaries, assaults, and property damage. In a Minneapolis City Council Meeting this week, one city council member asked, “where are the police?” while others expressed that citizens are afraid over growing crime.

“The hypocrisy of Minneapolis liberals knows no limits. First they demand we defund the police, and now they are turning around and blaming law enforcement for rising crime rates and lawlessness in their city? Law enforcement cannot operate effectively without the support of communities, citizens and critical resources,” said U.S. Senate candidate Jason Lewis. “Unfortunately, Minneapolis is a national laughingstock and showing itself to be the perfect test case for what defunding the police gets you. This far-left anarchist agenda has left our cities in chaos, and average citizens are the ones paying the price. When Minnesotans head to the polls this November, they will have a chance to vote for safe, prosperous communities or vote for more violence and anarchy.”

Lewis noted this week that defunding the police “widens the silent majority,” and is a key reason why he and President Trump will win in November. Lewis has received several endorsements from law enforcement organizations across the state in his bid for U.S. Senate.
