Minnesota In Play: Trump, Lewis Continue Momentum as National Media Stories Highlight Minnesota Turning Red this November

September 10th, 2020

EAGAN, Minn. — A state that has been blue in every presidential election since 1972 is turning red, as President Trump and U.S. Senate candidate Jason Lewis continue to gain momentum less than two months from Election Day. Both presidential campaigns are making stops this week in Minnesota, including Laura Trump who is joining Lewis. There is also more money being poured into political ad buys, and the national narrative around Minnesota is shifting as it grows in status as a key 2020 battleground state.

Politico notes that “Minnesota is the rare offensive opportunity for Trump on a battleground map,” while DFL Congressman Dean Phillips told press this week: “Trump can win Minnesota. It’s real. It’s absolutely real.”
