FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jason Lewis Rejects Impeachment Sham, Calls On Tina Smith To Pledge To Acquit
WOODBURY, Minn. – U.S. Senate candidate Jason Lewis issued the following statement after the House of Representatives voted to send the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate.
“It’s been nearly a month since House Democrats held an ‘urgent’ vote to impeach President Trump, which was nothing more than a partisan, political stunt. Today, Speaker Pelosi finally decided to send the impeachment articles to the Senate. Americans can see right through this sham and know it’s nothing more than a partisan smear aimed at undoing the 2016 election and the will of the people. Now it is up to the Senate to fix this mess,” Lewis said.
“Sadly, rather than being guided by facts and evidence, my opponent Senator Tina Smith has blindly followed the radically liberal “resistance” and mob of “never-Trumpers” by vocally supporting impeachment. Today I am calling on her to do the right thing and pledge to acquit President Trump,” Lewis concluded.
